Jason is the creator and solo author of this website. Born in Florida in 1985, he first traveled abroad in 2002 while he participated in a Rotary International student-exchange program. This experience of traveling alone to a foreign country was so appealing to Jason, that he has spent his life continuing the journey. While there have been companions few and far between, the majority of Jason’s international travels have been solo trips.
Jason left the United States in 2012 for an indefinite trip abroad which resulted in solo backpacking through Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama. Next, Jason moved to Bangkok for 1.5 years thru 2014- during this time he traveled to Singapore, Malaysia, Cambodia, Laos, Philippines, and Hong Kong.
In the summer of 2014, Jason spent a month in Budapest, a month in Rome, and a month in Madrid before moving to Mexico City where he would reside until 2016. During this time he would make trips to Canada and Alaska. Jason finally returned to Florida in late 2016 and lived there for one year. In 2017 Jason moved to NYC for six months, then to DC for a year.
In late 2018, Jason visited Turkey, Austria, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, and Estonia. In 2019, Jason moved back to Florida where he would reside for the next 3 years. During this time he made trips to Puerto Rico, St Thomas, St Johns, and the Bahamas.
In 2023, Jason moved back to Mexico City where he currently spends around 5 months a year. He also spends approximately 5 months a year in Asia and about 1 month per year between the US and Europe. In May of 2023, Jason embarked on a three-month around the world journey starting in Mexico and continuing through Germany, France, Finland, Turkey, Oman, Thailand, Singapore, Taiwan, and Japan before returning to Mexico City in mid September.
